The Northwest Academy of Music was
founded in 1989 as a music school for young children, offering programs that
develop total musicianship skills from a very early age. These include being
able to accurately identify and reproduce musical pitch vocally and
instrumentally, imitate and create new
rhythms, develop good sightreading skills, have a thorough understanding of
music theory, create compositions using students’ natural creativity, and
exhibit polished ensemble skills. We strive to motivate students at their
various developmental levels through song, movement, and a variety of
activities that will inspire children of all ages to excel in the joy of
musical pursuits.
